Why does MSP exist?
MSP exists to provider short and long term credentials to external entities that require access to the HP network or systems owned by HP in a way that limits access to employee confidential solutions as well as HP IP and the IP of HP collaboration partners.
Who should obtain credentials from MSP?
Any external entity that needs access to HP back-office servers, systems and solutions.
Are MSP credentials the same as HP domain credentials?
No. HP domain accounts are the primary identities for regular HP Employees
Is everyone that has an
No. For that reason, you should always ask before giving access to systems or use an independent verification sources like Directory Works to verify. We have CW's that are:
- Channel Partners (HP Consumers) who sell into the channel and provide services to HP that may require access to HP back-office systems
- Collaboration Partners (Software/API Developers for HP Products/Education and Research Institutions)
- MSP/OSS (Managed/Outsourced Service Providers)
- Gig (Unmanaged 1099 Workers with no Agency Contractor Affiliation, Freelancers and Interns
- New Acquisitions (Employees and External Suppliers of HP Acquisitions prior to and after Day 1 for 3rd parties
- Other Suppliers (Vendors and Government Agency Employees)
I am a contractor, but when I attempted to login to MSP with my @hp.com account, I was not able to login.
Only regular HP employees and IAM team members can login to MSP. Contractors and partners with CW credentials are not allowed to on-board other vendors/partners into MSP to obtain end user credentials.
Are there any exceptions to giving CW's access to MSP?
No.
